Our partner is a well-established company with an international environment, looking for a Data Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for building and scaling modern data infrastructure and pipelines. In this role, you will combine hands-on technical work with people leadership, working with both local and distributed engineers while staying closely involved in key architectural and implementation decisions.
Key responsibilities
• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering technical growth, ownership, and accountability.
• Design and oversee end-to-end data pipeline architecture from ingestion to delivery, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Own data quality, transformation, and delivery processes supporting analytics and ML/AI use cases.
• Collaborate with data science, analytics and MLOps teams to support model development, deployment, and production operations.
• Stay up to date with data engineering best practices and emerging technologies and drive technical decision-making within the team.
Required technical background
• 4+ years in a team lead, principal engineer, or engineering manager role, leading local and/or remote teams.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a data engineer working with modern data stacks.
• Strong background in building, operating, and scaling data pipelines, including ingestion, transformation, quality, and delivery.
• Experience working in data-driven organizations where analytics and ML/AI are core to business outcomes.
• Practical experience with cloud-based data platforms and lakehouse architectures, including cost awareness and optimisation (FinOps mindset).
• Working knowledge of data science workflows, ML/AI operations, and model deployment pipelines
