Our international partner is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join their Budapest-based finance organization. This role offers hands-on involvement across multiple Hungarian entities, close collaboration with US headquarters, and exposure to both Hungarian and US GAAP — ideal for professionals who enjoy working in an international, fast-paced environment.
You will play a key role in monthly close activities, financial reporting, and process development, while partnering closely with local Operations and US-based finance stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Support monthly closing and financial reporting for Hungarian entities in accordance with Hungarian GAAP (balance sheet and P&L)
- Prepare consolidated financial information for banking purposes on a semi-annual basis
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations at both entity and consolidated level
- Provide data and analysis to support Hungarian GAAP to US GAAP adjustments in collaboration with US finance teams
- Coordinate with external accounting providers on monthly intercompany reconciliations
- Partner with Operations on intercompany billing activities and maintain related schedules (billings, loan balances)
- Review monthly accruals across CAPEX, operating expenses and G&A
- Support partner cash call processes
- Act as a key finance contact for US headquarters, supporting monthly activity reviews and ad hoc information requests
- Conduct accounting research related to regulatory, tax, transfer pricing and operational topics, working with accounting, tax and legal advisors when needed
- Support annual audit processes and ensure reporting deadlines are met
- Contribute to ERP implementation initiatives, including testing, process alignment and workflow improvements
- Provide professional guidance and day-to-day support to accounting team members
- Help maintain documentation of financial reporting processes and internal controls
- Proactively identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce manual work
- Investigate accounting discrepancies and participate in special projects

What we’re looking for
- 7–10 years of relevant accounting experience
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Professional accounting qualification (CPA or equivalent preferred)
- Audit background or experience with Big 4 / reputable regional firms is a strong advantage
- Solid knowledge of Hungarian GAAP; exposure to US GAAP is considered a plus
- Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail
- Confident English communication skills (both written and spoken)
